Aud & Di Potluck

Aud & Di Picnic

Sunday at noon found Emma and I meeting our area managers, Marion and Vaneta, at their site. Jim and Charlene were there too. We were off to the Aud & Di potluck.

We all piled into Marion and Vaneta’s truck – it seats 6, and 6 we were! Glad I’ve lost some weight! We made several stops – to pick up a trailer at another campground, and a golf cart for Jim and Charlene to use for the summer. Then down to Riverside Park – South of Idaho Falls. It’s a lovely area, although it was breezy. Emma was a really good sport, but says she feels as if she spent the day talking to her grandparents. It’s nice that she was able to tell them she’d just graduated and was going off to Boston for a teaching fellowship and her Master’s degree. Nice to be able to be so proud of all my kids!

We had typical potluck fare – something Emma wasn’t entirely used to. I caught her on the phone today telling a friend that we had macaroni salad, potato salad, pasta salad, lime Jello with walnut salad - her comment was that everything was cold. That wasn’t entirely true – we also had baked beans and sloppy joe’s. They were warm!

On our way back Marion and Vaneta had us stop at their favorite place, Rainy Creek, for a square ice cream cone. As if we needed MORE food! But, of course, we all indulged. Then back to where we picked up the golf cart to deliver some of the firewood bundles we had picked up – and then, back to Teton Canyon! Was quite the afternoon. Emma sat in the middle of the front seat and her head kept bobbing on the way home.

A Sunday afternoon adventure!
